Duif's Place has information for chess fans and tournament players, with special emphasis on feature stories, including player biographies, tips for parents of young chessplayers, background on international chess events, and more. The Guide for Chess Fans and New Tournament Players lets readers ask their own questions about chess events and top players. We also host the International Directory of Chess Teachers, which lists chess teachers around the world who give lessons in person or on the Internet. This site is updated once each month around the 15th.

All information at Duif's Place is offered free.

International Directory of Chess Teachers

Find a Teacher in Your City--or Online!

Our directory is free to both students and teachers, and is a memorial project for IM Boris Kogan.

Teachers are listed by last name, location, and specialty (both chess and teaching specialty, including teachers of learning disabled children and adults, and chess teachers who specialize in chess camps, press analysis, and team coaching).

We have listings for chess teachers from over a dozen countries, as well as teachers who offer chess lessons by e-mail, mail, phone, and on the Internet.

Note: From 1997 - 1999, Duif wrote the news column for the US Chess Federation, and you'll find her weekly news articles on that site for that period. You'll continue to find new material here at Duif's Place every month in the Guide for Fans and New Tournament Players, the Kids and Parents areas, and the International Directory of Chess Teachers. We'll also maintain the archive of earlier news features here.
